Colin Kaepernick through the years His statistical dominance led to a litany of awards, including 2007 WAC freshman of the year and WAC offensive player of the year honors in both 2008 and 2010, the latter season a 13-1 campaign that ranks as the greatest year in the school's time in FBS.
He moved on to the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him in 2011. He played for the Niners from 2011-2016, guiding them to Super Bowl XLVII after the 2012 season and another NFC championship game appearance the following year.
During the 2016 season, Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and other issues tied to systemic racism. He has not played in the NFL since.

Joining Kaepernick in the 2020 Wolf Pack athletics hall of fame class are two of his former teammates, Vai Taua and Dontay Moch, as well as former basketball players Luke Babbitt, Armon Johnson and Dellena Criner.
"The 2020 Hall of Fame class represents some of the best of the best in Wolf Pack history," Nevada athletics director Doug Knuth said in a statement announcing the new members. "This is an incredible collection of accomplished student-athletes and we can't wait for the opportunity to welcome them back to campus and celebrate their careers."
